PhD Position Summary
The Patriarchi laboratory is looking for a highly motivated and collaborative PhD student to work on an exciting protein engineering project related to the development of new optogenetic tools to investigate G protein-coupled receptor signaling in living animals.
Your responsibilities as PhD candidate: Conduct and plan laboratory research in a protein engineering project involving techniques from molecular biology, cell culture, imaging and fluorescent activated cell sorting experiments.
Your profile
- Master degree or PhD degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology or a related discipline
- An ideal candidate should have solid experience in the following techniques: molecular cloning techniques, fluorescence-activated cell sorting, mammalian cell culture, confocal microscopy
- Good organizational skills, attention to details, reliability, and ability to work in a team
- Excellent speaking/writing skills (in English)
- Must be OK with animal research
