Postdoctoral Fellowship Position Summary

About us:

We use human islets, cell culture and animal models and human donor pancreas samples to understand the impact of the islet/pancreas “neighbourhood” on islet endocrine cell function and survival. Current projects include (i) investigating interactions between cells of the exocrine pancreas (duct and acinar) and islets, (ii) building the first comprehensive atlas of the pancreas in cystic fibrosis and (iii) studying the impact of islet microvascular destabilization on islet function and survival.

Qualification

What we are looking for:

Highly motivated and collaborative team players to build a diverse research community focused on the islet microenvironment. Successful applicants will utilize their experience in cutting edge techniques working with human islets, organoid and/or vascular culture models, live cell and confocal microscopy and analysis of large datasets. Successful applicants will be expected to develop individual projects as well as contributing to team-based studies and to be involved in training and mentoring of other group members.
